Following the brainstorming session and research, note down you initial ideas in detail.

Track name: Honey, Honey by Abba Genre pop.

What are the Genre characteristics?

in our video we have not included all of the genre characteristics. The genre characteristics of pop includes, Music and visual reference, Dance routines, narrative, Bright colors, super smiley faces, over the top gestures. in our music video we included, music and visual reference, narrative, Bright Colors smiley faces and over the top gestures. We decided to miss out dance routines because if we put it in the video it will not look right due to the story we have come up with.

What is the relationship between lyrics and visuals?

The lyrics are amplified in the video. this helps the story be put across to the audience, making it less confusing, and easier to follow. Using this method it should attract a wider audience. In our video we have used this when it says " The way that you hold me tight" Sean and Jasmine and Sean And Joanne Hug on split screen. Another example is when the lyrics say " the way you kiss me goodnight" Jasmine and Sean And Joanne and Sean blow a kiss on split screen.

What is the relationship between music and visuals?

The relationship between the music and visuals is a weak connection. We made it this because at the start we have the two girls really happy due to having a boyfriend. when the music first starts it is very cheerful and happy. this makes our music and visuals have a small connection.

Are there close-ups of the artist and star image motifs? When?

there are lots of close ups involved in this video. We have made close ups on the main people in the video so that we can see their emotions more clearly. Also we have included closeups so that people will recognise our faces. This may make our band stand out more than other bands due to the way we have included these in our video.

Is there reference to the notion of looking? Where?

there is a small reference to the notion of looking. At the end the notion of looking is quite strong. we can see this when the two girls are both looking at the boy but at the same time the guy is looking at both of the girls.

Are there intertextual references?

We have used intertextual reference's at the start of our music video. We added in pictures at the very start that fall down and hit the floor. This is an intertextual reference because in abba's song lay all your love on me it has pictures coming up on the screen. this shows that we have looked at some other video's by Abba and took some idea's from them so that we can use it in our video and make it more effected.

Is it performance-based, narrative-based or concept-based? How much of each?

our music video is basically all narrative. We used the lyrics to look for a story. this was to show that we understood the lyrics within the song to make the music video more affective.

Is there need for any special effects? (Blue screen, split screen, colour overlay, titles)

there is a need to use split screens so that we can show that Sean is seeing both Jasmine and Joanne. the use of split screen makes us see that sean is cheating this adds the effect to the story within the video.
